Prologue.

You are about to see the Pulitzer Prize winner “the social transformation of American medicine” through the eyes of a public health graduate student.

I come from a background where organized national health insurance and stiffly regulating healthcare are considered  virtues. 

A country that has just recently took its first steps away from socialism and ventured into capital and market mechanics. This transition has not been smooth, to say the least, and the healthcare structure only reflects the bumpiness of this ride.
